Dr. Chins Chinnasamy Joins Electron Energy Corporation as a Senior Research Engineer

Landisville, PA, (February 5, 2010) — Electron Energy Corporation (EEC), one of the world’s leading producers of rare earth magnets and magnet assemblies for critical applications, has hired Chins Chinnasamy as a Senior Research Engineer. The announcement was made by EEC President, Michael H. Walmer.

“Dr. Chinnasamy’s expertise is deeply rooted in magnetism and magnetic materials. We are pleased to add such an accomplished research scientist to our technical team,” Walmer said.

Reporting to Dr. Jinfang Liu, V.P. of Technology and Engineering at EEC, Dr. Chins Chinnasamy will work with other engineers at EEC to develop new magnetic materials and innovative manufacturing processes funded either internally or by federal government agencies.

“EEC’s engineering team has completed numerous research programs with internationally recognized accomplishments in the magnetics industry. With the addition of Dr. Chins Chinnasamy, EEC’s engineering team is further strengthened to handle more complicated problems in magnetic materials and systems.” Liu said.

Before joining EEC, Chins worked at Northeastern University as a Research Scientist at the Center for Microwave and Magnetic Materials, Northeastern University, Boston, MA, from 2005 to 2009. He also worked at Tohoku University, Japan, as a researcher from 2001 to 2005. Chins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics in 1990 and a Master of Science degree in Physics in 1992 from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, India. He received his M. Phil. Degree in 1996 and Ph.D. in 2001 in Materials Science from University of Madras, Chennai, India. His Ph.D. experimental work was mostly carried out at the Materials science and Engineering dept, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore India. Dr. Chinnasamy has co-authored more than 45 peer reviewed articles in leading scientific journals and is a co-inventor of four patents. He has given numerous presentations at national / international conferences.
