Electron Energy also designs and manufactures magnetic assemblies for inertial guidance systems used in aircraft, marine vessels and spacecraft navigation and control systems.  

Inertial guidance systems typically use magnetic assemblies in:

• Accelerometers -- instruments that measure acceleration, detect and measure vibrations, or measure acceleration due to gravity or inclination.
• Gyroscopes -- devices that measure or maintain orientation.

Temperature compensated SmCo magnets provide precision control and stability for accelerometers and gyroscopes. Temperature coefficients of residual induction for magnets used in the applications can be controlled to better than 0.001% change in B_r per degree C or 10 parts per million.
